What is the Soul?

What if I told you that your soul is more than a million years old? Does it catch your attention to learn that you as a being in God have been around a very long time?

This image is an artist conception of how the soul can be visualized. It is described as a small egg-shaped ovoid of fiery blue energy residing within your body, attached to the seat of the soul chakra (spiritual center) located between the navel and base of the spine.

There are many good reasons to want to learn more about your soul. Your soul is a beautiful and precious expression of God. The soul needs our care and affection because it has likely been wounded by life’s experiences. The soul is only a part of our divine identity. When each one of us was created, it was not as the soul, but as a shining sun of immortal being. This being of light is our original Self, made in the image of God, and referred to as the I AM Presence.

We must face the truth that while we were created with immortality, our soul is temporal. The worldwide fall of consciousness that occurred many thousands of years ago resulted in the loss of immortality. The feminine energy in both man and woman is what fell and the karmic penalty required this feminine side, personified as the soul, to atone for its wrong decisions and rebellion against the laws of God by incarnating in physical form.

Reincarnation is a fundamental part of God’s plan to enable souls to reunite with their divine identity. It takes time and experience to right the wrongs of the past and to willingly self-correct. This requires more than a few incarnations.  The soul has a helper in the Christ Self to learn the lessons of righteousness. The Christ Self is an emanation of the I AM Presence and is assigned as the mediator between the Presence and the soul.

Throughout history, God has sent teachers, sages, and avatars, such as Moses, Gautama Buddha, Confucius, and Jesus to remind the soul of their innate divinity and to demonstrate the pathway home. Over the intervening millennia since the fall, many souls through their incarnations have learned their lessons and regained eternal life through reuniting with their I AM Presence in the process known as the ascension. They are therefore referred to as ascended masters. These include the teachers named above who fulfilled their missions, and also includes many millions of their students and devotees who followed their divine teachings.

The ascended masters dwell in the very tangible and magnificent world we call heaven, which is our natural home. They form a heavenly hierarchy that works tirelessly to help souls to emancipate themselves from error and darkness. They consider themselves to be our “elder brothers and sisters” rather than being superior to us. They know that every person can achieve the ascension, which is the goal of life for every soul.

The remainder of us are still working on our salvation. Unfortunately, the majority of people are oblivious to the necessity of making soul progress and are not striving in a focused way to overcome the forces that oppose their reunion with God.

This is where we are today. It is time for every person to begin to understand and accept this situation in their outer awareness. Ultimately, a person in harmony with their soul must make a definite choice between eternal life and the second death, which is the cancelling out of the individual, such as a fallen angel who has waged war against God. Endnote 1 The second death is also the end point for any soul who has followed the way of the fallen consciousness and continues to prefer it over reuniting with their I AM Presence.

Eternal life can be regained by accepting the mercy of God and diligently following a dependable pathway back to the love of God and reunion with the Christ Self and I AM Presence. However, by rejecting or neglecting the opportunity given, the soul ultimately loses the option for eternal life. A person does not have forever to choose the higher way. As Joshua stated, “Choose you this day who ye will serve.” (Josh. 24:15)

Remember, our souls are more than a million years old. We have been engaged in the process of salvation as on a roller coaster of life; sometimes gaining Light and ground in one incarnation but losing it in another incarnation. God gives the soul an amazingly long period of time to learn and demonstrate obedience to his laws. But the time does come when the soul that resists reunion with God shall be judged, and its identity dissolved. Every person reinforces the outcome for their soul by their everyday decisions and actions.

Understanding the reality of your soul’s connection to the I AM Presence and Christ Self can be empowering. The I AM Presence is ultimately who we are at the highest level of our being and it is the source of all good things already active in our lives. We have recourse to the power, wisdom, and love of our innate spiritual nature.

The image below is called The Chart of Your Divine Self. It was inspired by the ascended masters to reveal our spiritual anatomy. Meditating on this image can deliver a huge boost to reclaiming your divine identity.

On the chart, the figure at the top represents the I AM Presence, which is pure Spirit. This is the “image of God” in which we were created. The figure in the middle is the Christ Self who is the mediator between the I AM Presence and the soul.

The three figures are connected by the “crystal cord” over which flows divine energy from the I AM Presence to animate and sustain the physical body, which is the temple of the soul. Endnote 2

This is the time to rediscover your soul, Christ Self, and I AM Presence. The ascended masters have delivered these teachings to help us escape the grip of darkness that is intensifying in the world.

The Chart of the Divine Self 

Consider using the following two scriptural messages as guides for motivation.

                …seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. (Matt. 7:7)

It is the Christ Self, one with Jesus, that opens the door when the soul knocks and desires to enter into a loving and cooperative relationship with Christ.

                Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. (James 4:8) 

When a person consistently sends love to God, the Christ Self and I AM Presence draw physically closer, strengthening the level of spiritual contact.

It is up to the soul and outer person to ask for God’s help to find and walk the path all the way home.
